The 2016 schedule
The chapter at this point has four games ready to run this summer, all of them are at SPC or better status. Last year’s implementation of a new policy to encourage earlier game submissions is beginning to make a difference that can be seen now with earlier announcements of games that are ready to run. You will start seeing advertisements from the producers shortly. Again, until we can get The Melee back on it’s feet, please plan to be a bit more proactive and seek out these producers to let them know if you are interested in being involved.
After a short downtime, we are back up and running. Slight miscalculation on my part when I installed at the new host, but it’s all good now, as far as I can tell.
If you notice anything wonky or missing, please drop me a line and let me know. The contact forms should be working (they seem to, but there is enough of a delay that I’m not going to sit up and wait.) 🙂
We’ve been notified by our host that they will be performing maintenance on the web servers on Monday 30th, 2015 between 10:00 PM and 7:00 AM Mountain Time. The downtime should not be longer than 90 minutes.
You may have realized by now that we have not had a new Melee Newsletter in a while. This is due to the fact that Dan Frazier has resigned his post after many, many years of faithful service to the chapter by consistently putting out interesting and fun to read newsletters every month. Danny deserves a rousing cheer and applause for his work, and I’d like everybody to give him a standing round of applause.
Go ahead, I’ll wait.
No really, stand up and applaud. 🙂
Now, to the business at hand, we are in need of someone to fill Danny’s shoes. The newsletter needs to go out monthly with whatever content can be scraped together, including board minutes, game information (upcoming and recently past), personals and our few advertisers. Since it is all electronic, putting it together in a PDF file and posting it online is all the production needed, and I can assist with some of it (mostly, the posting part).
If you are interesting in helping out, please let the D/B Board know.

- Ideas for reducing game staffing requirements; what are minimums necessary for minigame, minor game, major game.
- Faster, simpler sanctioning.
- Recruit GMs early and use GMs as game reviewers/sanctioners – they are the ones who have to run teams through the game.
- Sanctioning status of Lands of Light
- Lack of writers / submitted games
- Non-sanctioned camping event
Meeting adjourned at 1:00PM.
